About the role:
Reporting to the Executive General Manager City Planning and Corporate Services, the Executive Manager Information and Communications Technology (ICT) will lead the strategic planning, management, and execution of the Council's records and information management, as well as its ICT infrastructure, systems, and services, with a focus on enhancing community impact and service delivery. This role requires an inspiring and energetic leader with clear values and outstanding leadership skills to work across the Council and embed the Information and Communications Technology team effectively.
In this role you will:
Lead the strategic planning, management, and execution of the Council's records and information management, as well as its information and communications technology infrastructure, systems, and services, with a focus on enhancing community impact and service delivery.
Oversee the development and implementation of Council’s ICT program, driving innovation through technology, aligning IT services with the needs of the community, and ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of Council operations.
Provide strategic direction, oversight and leadership for integrating and implementing Council’s cyber security programs, initiatives and measures to mitigate risks and safeguard Council’s data and technology assets.
Oversee the development and implementation of the Council's records and information management program, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards for records retention, access, and disposal. Implementing best practices for records management to enhance efficiency and accountability.
To succeed in this role you will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or extensive job related experience.
Post-graduate qualifications in a relevant field are preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of current issues, trends and development in: Information and Records Management, Software Integration, E-Services/Business Delivery, ICT and Cyber security.
Highly developed written communication skills including experience in preparing complex reports, submissions and strategies.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage strategic projects.
Experience in a political environment is desirable.
Experience in leading a team including motivation, performance management and support to staff members.
Experience in a large multi-dimensional organization.
Highly developed interpersonal skills, with proven abilities in negotiation and influencing at all leadership levels.
