About the role
Fixed term temporary part time opportunity to assign timely and accurate morbidity and procedural classifications to episodes of care to meet the data reporting requirements of Queensland Health.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Clinical coding – abstract and verify relevant information in the ieMR and all available patient information digital applications; assign accurate ICD-10-AM and ACHI codes and perform Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) grouping according to the Australian Coding Standards, National and State Coding Authority and Queensland Health guidelines and legislative requirements within designated timeframes.
- Maintain current knowledge of coding practices and standards, state and federal regulations pertaining to clinical classification, activity based funding and related computer applications.
- As part of the coding process, complete Queensland Cancer Registry notifications and collect/flag clinical indicator and audit data.
- Utilise the 3M Web Codefinder software, relevant patient information systems and related pathology and associated databases to assist in verification and allocation of codes.
