Locum Clinical Coder Opportunity - Gold Coast, Starting May 2025

Are you an experienced Clinical Coder looking for your next adventure? A leading private hospital in the Gold Coast is offering a locum on-site assignment from May 2025 onwards, lasting 3-6 weeks, with the potential for extension.

What We're Looking For:
* Minimum 5+ years of coding experience, ideally with complex casemix.
* Private hospital experience is highly preferred.
* Experience using Meditech is also desired but not essential

Requirements:
To be considered for the role, candidates must have:
* Clinical Coding qualifications from the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) or equivalent, or a Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management).
* Sound and updated knowledge of ICD-10-AM 12th Edition.
* Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical science.
* Good analytic and abstracting skills.
* Membership with HIMAA.

Key Responsibilities:
* Assigning accurate and timely clinical codes through analysis using ICD-10-AM, 12th Edition.
* Managing complex casemix coding with precision.
* Building strong relationships with clinicians and staff to improve coding and documentation processes.
