ABOUT THE COMPANY
This market leading industrial services business is currently looking to bolster their leadership team and add a Group Financial Controller on a 12 to 16 month basis, with a genuine opportunity to go permanent at the end of the contract. This company is a true market leader and is currently undergoing an exciting period of change.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is best suited to a proven Group Financial Controller who is able to bring their own IP to the table in terms of implementing best practice processes and procedures across the team. Despite the size of the business, this is a broad scoped, hands-on role as you'll be expected to roll your sleeves up to help the team out.
The key duties will include but not be limited to:
- Present to and manage C-Suite stakeholders
- Managing the preparation and presentation of financial statements, and reports;
- Delivery of month end, quarterly, half-year and year end close;
- Statutory reporting for the company;
- Major focus on Balance Sheet and Cashflow on a monthly basis;
- Full treasury function, including Cashflow management, bonds and surety, and all banking relationships;
- Maximising the utility of technology and systems
- Close interactions with the tax, FP&A and M&A functions
- Ensure all audit files are prepared in accordance with the audit timetable;
- Ownership of SOX compliance controls as well as local compliance controls
- Developing, mentoring and coaching the team;
- Drive system and process improvements
- Ad hoc duties as required
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
This role will be a "game changer" for both the successful candidate and the business as they continue on a strong path of change and growth. The ideal candidate for the role will have:
- Post graduate qualification of CPA/CA/CIMA
- 10-15+ years of experience in a similar financial control role
- Experience managing cashflow and a treasury function critical
- Ideally from a similar industry such as industrial services, engineering, construction, facility maintenance, services etc
- Experience in an internal control environment, SOX highly regarded
- Some experience with M&A accounting and all tax requirements highly regarded
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of finance policies, procedures and accounting standards
- Experience within Big 4 or large second-tier accounting firm highly regarded
- Strong people leader and team management critical
- Resilient with a flexible and adaptable style
- Must have a high attention to detail and;
- Ability to take complex finance issues and present them to non-finance business partners in an easily understood format
