Join a leading Retail Group as their new Assistant Accountant, where you’ll play a pivotal role in assisting the finance team and developing your skills in Financial Accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with weekly and end-of-month reporting processes;
• Prepare and post end-of-month journals, including accruals and prepayments;
• Perform reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts and inter-company balances;
• Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register, including asset additions and disposals;
• Provide support for BAS and VAT preparation and lodgements in various jurisdictions;
• Assist with preparation of documentation for external accountants, including supporting year-end workpapers;
• Support accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments;
• Participate in finance team process improvements and support the maintenance of SOPs; and
• Contribute to ad hoc financial tasks and general administrative support as required.

Qualifications / Experience

• CA/CPA Qualified or in progress;
• 2-3+ years’ experience in Accounting / Finance;
• Exceptional verbal & written communication skills; and
• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, or similar.
