Senior Project Officer, Industry Training – Liquor & Gaming NSW
An exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team with Hospitality & Racing, a division within the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport
Clerk Grade 9/10 with a salary range of $125,693 - $138,510 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
An ongoing role opportunity based in Sydney, NSW – Hybrid working arrangements may be available within business operational needs.
About Hospitality & Racing
We are at the forefront of industry supervision for the liquor, gaming, wagering, casino, registered club and racing sectors in NSW. We play an integral role in administering regulatory frameworks for liquor, gambling and registered clubs within NSW, including policy advice to government and supervision and enforcement of liquor and gambling laws. This is to ensure that vibrant and dynamic hospitality and racing environments are safe and responsible, whilst our regulatory efforts are evidenced-informed, coordinated and targeted.

About the Role
As a Senior Project Officer, Industry Training you’ll lead a team responsible for liquor and gaming training operations and managing relationships with Approved Training Providers. You’ll be responsible for responding to legislative change through the implementation of strategic initiatives and for driving business process improvement.
You’ll be responsible for:
Managing relationships with Approved Training Providers and responding to enquiries from competency card holders.
Processing applications from individual trainers and RTOs to deliver Liquor & Gaming NSW (L&GNSW) mandatory industry training, such as the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) course.
Managing the implementation of changes to the Industry Training operating model and technology stack.
Maintaining a people management and leadership mindset to supervise a team of three direct reports.
To be successful you will have:
Extensive people management skills with experience in managing multiple direct reports.
Proven ability to manage complex project activities and competing timelines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills surrounding operational procedure to deliver continuous improvement.
Expertise in managing stakeholder relationships and cross-functional collaboration.
Proven ability to identify and develop solutions for complex regulatory issues and formulate recommendations to support project planning and decision making.

The person occupying the role may be designated as a key official under section 16 of the Gaming and Liquor Administration Act 2007, and may be subject to restrictions, such as restrictions on attending certain premises.
