Established in 2009, PDP Fine Foods is Australia’s market leading chilled dessert manufacturer and creators of the premium desserts & snacks brand Wicked Sister. Our brands are distributed across leading national retailers and food service channels within Australia and New Zealand.

We are looking for two (2) individuals with exceptional skills and experience in food safety standards and quality to join our small but high performing Quality Assurance team and provide “boots on the ground” support for our 245 manufacturing operations.

The Role

As a Quality Control Officer, you will spend your days on the production floor supporting our PM & Night shift production teams ensuring our products meet and exceed the highest quality and food safety standards. You will play a critical role in maintaining the compliance of our quality management and food safety systems to the highest standard.

We operate our manufacturing facility, 24hours, 5-6 days per week meaning that as a Quality Control Officer you must be flexible with working hours including weekends as required and be able to work either afternoon (pm) or night shift as outlined below.

Shifts that are available:

Afternoon (PM) 2pm – 10pm

Night 10pm – 6am

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager and based on the production floor, you will:

• Conduct thorough inspections and testing of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products to identify and address any quality issues

• Maintain site calibration schedule

• Maintain site product and environmental testing schedule

• Maintain the positive release process by completion of various assessments including AQS data check, finished product assessments and COAs

• Monitor cleaning and GMP by completion of related activities including line walks and GMP monitoring, pre-operational inspections, ATP swabs, product changeover inspections, etc

• Drive compliance in all aspects of food safety and quality

• Report on quality control findings, including RCA and corrective actions

• Collaborate with production & other teams to implement QC measures and process improvements

• Maintaining accurate records and data related quality control activities.

• Assisting in the development and implementation of quality control policies, procedures and training programs

About You

You are highly motivated, with a strong work ethic and flexible approach to learning, coupled with a passion for food safety and possess relevant experience in the food industry and tertiary qualifications in Food Science with a good understanding of industry-specific quality standards and regulations, an excellent working knowledge and application of GMP, HACCP, SQF, BRC, high attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and food safety. You must be an effective communicator and collaborate with cross-functional teams, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and able to demonstrate fluent English verbal and written skills.
