About the role:
In this role, you will provide administrative support to the City’s Youth Development Unit (YDU). Working closing with the Senior Administration Officer, you will undertake a wide range of administrative tasks including record management, purchasing and finance administration, preparation of correspondence, organising and coordinating resources for the team and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. There will also be a requirement to be located at Youth Hubs in both Central Geelong and Corio.
Work type: Permanent full-time
Classification: Band 4 Commencing at $71,647 pa plus super
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting people leaders and team members to deliver activities in the Youth Development Unit.
- Provide administrative and operational support for key youth programs, initiatives and events.
- Provide frontline customer service by responding to inquiries from young people, families, and community stakeholders in a professional and supportive manner.
- Coordinate logistical arrangements for events, meetings, and training sessions, including venue bookings and catering.
- Assist the people leader in making improvements and support change processes.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong administration background, with experience in customer service or a community service environment. You will be comfortable liaising with a diverse range of people, be highly organised with a keen eye for detail, enjoy troubleshooting issues and working in a fast paced environment. You will have the following experience:
- Demonstrated experience and skills in customer service roles, preferably in an administrative or community services setting.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong IT capability with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the ability to quickly learn and use digital systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to proofread, edit and draft professional correspondence.
- High-level organisation and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
