Uber in Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) is looking for a highly-motivated individual to take on an opportunity as a Regulatory Support Associate - Mobility, within the Uber ridesharing business. In this role, you will help coordinate work programs related to responding to externally and internally initiated audits and investigations, and proactively work with internal teams to improve Uber’s compliance and safety-related processes, controls, and reporting.
This is a highly cross-functional role that will require strong relationship, problem solving and project management across internal teams (Operations, Policy, Legal, Trust & Safety). At Uber, regulatory compliance isn’t a back-office function. Uber operates in a highly regulated market in ANZ, requiring compliance with regulation that spans from driver documentation and vehicle standards, to pricing and operating boundaries. In this role you will be part of the team who is on the frontline helping to shape regulation in a relatively nascent space and ensuring full compliance, to enable us to expand and grow our business while setting the standard for safety and compliance.
Job Details:
Role - Regulatory Support Associate
Location - Sydney with hybrid work options available
Pay rate - $46.83 p/hr + super
Start date - ASAP
Shift times - Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm
What You’ll Do:
- Help project-manage and respond to audit requests from state transport regulators. This includes sense-checking information put forward by business stakeholders to ensure fitness for purpose and accuracy.
- Assist the Regulation Team with wider ad hoc requests from transport regulators, including to help investigate issues and compile responses.
- Maintain, establish and/ or improve internal systems, ways of working, templates and processes that help ensure robust, timely and accurate handling of regulatory matters.
- Work hand in hand with Uber’s Operational, Legal and Safety teams, as well as other x-functional teams, to ensure findings from audits are addressed appropriately with robust, comprehensive processes and/ or policies.
- Help project-manage business-wide programs of work that help strengthen compliance and assurance processes.

What You’ll Need:
- Proven experience in a compliance, risk or regulatory role in a company in a regulated industry and/or top tier consulting / strategy or related experience.
- Experience managing projects with multiple requests, tight deadlines, and sensitive data.
- Excellent partner management, with proven ability to collaborate and influence internal partners.
- Clear communication style, you are a clear and concise communicator with the ability to synthesize a lot of information quickly, highlight the key takeaways, and disseminate meaningful insights. You can adapt your communication style as your audiences span across all parts of the business (from local leadership to technical/operational team members to external regulators).
- Ability to balance being in the operational weeds with being able to communicate at a senior level externally; you need to be able to get across the details of Uber’s compliance processes, products, and obligations and be able to synthesize this.
- Grittiness; You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and address something hands-on. You persevere when others fall away.
- Understand the inherent relationship between regulatory compliance, safety, and growth.

- This role will involve review and manipulation of data - You should be comfortable navigating a heavily analytical environment.
