Ashgrove Golf Club has an exciting opportunity for a reliable, enthusiastic Grounds Person or Horticulturist to join our close-knit team. Located just 7km from the Brisbane CBD in the leafy suburb of The Gap, our club offers a beautiful and rewarding outdoor work environment.

This is a permanent part-time role (24 hours per week), and availability for early morning shifts including rostered weekend work is essential.

There is potential for the right candidate to undertake a greenkeeping apprenticeship, offering a valuable career development pathway in the turf management industry.

About the Role

Reporting to the Course Superintendent, you'll be involved in the maintenance, renovation, and presentation of turf surfaces, garden areas, and surrounds. This is a physical, hands-on role where you'll work both as part of a team and independently.

While golf course experience is highly regarded, it’s not essential—we value a great attitude and willingness to learn.

What We’re Looking For

A passion for working outdoors and in horticulture or turf

A strong work ethic with great attention to detail

Ability to follow instructions and work independently

Mechanically minded and comfortable operating mowers, blowers, and other machinery

Good physical fitness with the ability to perform manual labour and heavy lifting

Strong communication and presentation skills

A safety-first mindset and good time management

Availability for early starts and rostered weekend mornings (essential)

Key Duties

Mowing, edging, planting, and general landscape maintenance

Bunker maintenance and course set-up for play

Irrigation system upkeep and fertiliser application

Safe operation of machinery and equipment care

Delivering a high standard of course presentation

Providing friendly and respectful service to members and guests
