The Client & Role:
We're currently working with an electrical organisation involved in some large-scale big build projects, they're looking for a HSE Field Advisor to join the organisation on a contractual term until the end of September. As the HSE Field Advisor, you'll be co-ordinating, developing, implementing and maintaining project specific HSE systems to effectively and efficiently support the safe and sustainable delivery of work on a construction project sites in a variety of locations.
This role will be paid on an hourly basis with a rate of up to $100 per hour inclusive of super and requires a 58-hour working week, with mandatory work on Saturdays.
Responsibilities:
- Positively influence and educate workers in HSE practices and processes
- Implement improvements and analyse HSE performance and trends and recommend courses of action to improve HSE performance on operational sites
- Participate in site based HSE Committees
- Lead and co-ordinate project audits, risk assessments and incident investigations Communicate HSE information clearly, concisely and confidently through a range of forums including inductions, toolbox talks and site based interactions
- Communicate technical information in a way that is easily understood by others
- Explain decisions using facts and figures in a confident and coherent manner
- Describe and apply sound negotiating strategies
- Negotiate effectively with parties in line with organisational processes and requirements
Required Skills & Specialisms:
- Minimum Cert IV (Health and Safety and/or Environmental)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Formal investigation training (ICAM is preferred)
- A minimum of 3 years' experience on construction projects in site based roles
- Experience with construction in the power industry or other utilities would be an advantage
- Detailed knowledge of all HSE management aspects associated with construction work and associated activities
- Detailed knowledge of contemporary construction practices, particularly the practical application of HSE systems in these environments
- Knowledge & understanding of regulatory compliance issues, OHS / WHS Legislation, Environmental legislation, Australian and International standards and codes
- Interpret and implement Occupational Health and Safety legislation, Standards and Codes of Practice to provide advice to project management teams and site based workers and customers that ensures a safe working environment
