About the Role
Provide support to the REX Risk Management Specialists to deliver data sharing and risk consulting services to NSW Government Agencies. This will include data analysis and reporting, report preparation, and project management tasks. The role will also support the development and execution of risk management related education, support for liability risk assessments and property risk site surveys.

Duties
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Risk Management Advisor you will:
- Support risk management specialists to engage with government agencies to guide their approach to operational risk management and loss prevention and to encourage a risk prevention mindset.
- Assist in the co-ordination of a whole of government response for emerging exposures such as climate and cyber risk, identifying and addressing the key points of resistance to change.
- Support risk management specialists to deliver data insight and risk consulting projects to agencies including assisting with the application process and project management.
- Support risk management specialists to Identify, investigate and develop effective mitigation options for emerging risks in conjunction with government, industry groups and regulatory bodies.
- Support the development of education programs to keep government agencies abreast of legal and policy developments that impact their operations and can lead to loss or damage to their people and assets.
- Keep abreast and ahead of risk management and loss prevention strategies in government and non-government organisations to help inform best practice for icare’s loss prevention strategy.
- Support the liability and property risk assessment both on-site and through desktop reviews.
- Development of self-help resources to address identified risk recommendations.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 year’s experience in a related role.
- Developed understanding of risk management and loss prevention strategies combined with a solid working understanding in the insurance industry.
- Highly motivated and engaging individual with exceptional project management skills, who will work in close partnership with all stakeholders.
- Confident presentation skills and ability to support training forums.
- Developed analytical skills to draw insights from data to support trend analysis and reporting.
- Engaged in initiatives that demonstrate keeping abreast of best practices.
- Tertiary qualification in engineering or related disciplines, operational or insurance risk management qualifications or equivalent knowledge and skills through practical experience.
- Highly desirable to have some experience in cyber or environmental risk management or self -driven, resourceful and willing to upskill in these areas
- Risk engineering expertise with demonstrated ability to support risk assessments(surveys) and review technical data to summarize findings and identify any risk recommendation.
