About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated nurse to join our team in a full-time (1.0 FTE), continuing opportunity (part time 0.6-1.0 FTE will be considered) as an Associate Lecturer (Teaching Focused/Teaching focused Clinical Professional) to contribute to the Bachelor of Science (Nursing) curriculum. As an Associate Lecturer, you will be able to inspire and educate the next generation of nursing professionals and be part of our vibrant academic community at Curtin University.

In this role, you will, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver high quality teaching to undergraduate students within the Bachelor of Science (Nursing) course.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing reflective improvement in teaching.
  • Conduct tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical sessions, as appropriate, which stimulate and foster student learning.
  • Assess and evaluate students work.
  • Contribute to curriculum innovation and content design.
  • Contribute to professional development training programmes for nursing and other dental professionals.

Selection Criteria

  1. A doctoral qualification or progress towards a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline (or equivalent accreditation) and professional standing for Teaching Focused Clinical Professional role.
  2. Registered with AHPRA (or the equivalent Australian health professional regulatory authority).
  3. Demonstrated high level teaching skill and a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching delivery.
  4. An understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline and experience of scholarship in teaching.
  5. Previous experience in clinical education.
  6. Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal and cultural skills.
  7. A commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment.
  8. The ability to respectfully interact with students and staff.
  9. Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, adhere to prescribed procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.

Role Requirements:

  1. As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
  2. This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check.
  3. You are required to be a current AHPRA registered nurse with an interest and experience in teaching and learning.
