ABOUT US
Advocacy WA provides information, referral, advice and individual advocacy to people living in the South West region who have a disability or ongoing mental health issue and who may be experiencing instances of abuse, discrimination, neglect (in areas such as employment, finances, independent living, legal, recreational/social/family, transport, accommodation, education, equipment, health). This is achieved by informing people with a disability of their rights and responsibilities and supporting them in making informed decisions about issues that impact on their lives.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Finance Officer role is 0.6 FTE with flexibility around days of work. The role is responsible to the CEO and is an active participant of the Advocacy WA team. The Finance Officer will also fill the Reception role during times of leave or absence.
All positions within Advocacy WA are subject to continued funding via external sources.
SELECTION CRITERIA
1. A VET Certificate in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
2. Demonstrated highly developed verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail
3. Strong problem-solving skills with the capacity to manage competing deadlines
4. Experience with a variety of computer applications including Microsoft office and financial software (e.g., Xero).
5. Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a (small) team
6. Proven time management skills with capacity to be flexible and adaptive
7. Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting processes
8. Experience in preparing financial reports and budgets.
9. Knowledge of financial ledgers and reconciliations.

Current Police Clearance
Current ‘C Class’ License
Any health issues or matters that may affect the person’s ability to perform the duties above to the expectations of the Board must be disclosed.
You may be dealing with immuno-compromised people therefore current COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations are essential.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
This position will be based in Bunbury.
Some out of hours work is required and this will be managed in accordance with the AWA's time-off-in-lieu policy.
