The Role
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Officer to join our team in Marrickville. Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest food safety and quality standards. This hands-on position will see you involved in verifying and validating the site’s HACCP program, conducting microbiological testing, ensuring calibration of critical equipment, and addressing customer complaints. You will also facilitate compliance training, conduct internal audits, and assist with risk assessments and incident investigations to drive continuous improvement across the site. This role will also require occasional interstate travel to support audits at other locations.

Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have:

• Significant hands-on experience in quality assurance within the poultry, red meat, or broader food industry
  
  
• A degree in food-related sciences is preferred
  
  
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO 9001, and SQF standards
  
  
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards in all aspects of the role
  
  
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
  
  
• A collaborative team player, capable of working across departments and supporting operational teams
  
  
• Proactive in identifying issues, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement
  
  
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 for workplace health and safety is highly regarded
