The Organisation
This Canberra based, family-owned organisation has been operating for over 50 years and has established itself as a leader in its industry. With the impending retirement of their incumbent, they are now looking for an experienced Financial Controller to take over the role and assist in driving and supporting their growth.

The Role
Reporting directly to and working closely with the CEO and National Commercial Manager and leading a small team, you will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of accounting and financial management responsibilities including:

• Financial and management reporting including management and year-end reporting
• Oversight and Control of the financial operations including AP, AR and payroll
• Preparation and monitoring of the budget and forecasting
• Cash flow budgeting and management
• Liaising with the company’s taxation advisors ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements
• Driving corporate governance including oversight of the internal controls framework

You will also be heavily involved across the organisation assisting operational management with their financial management questions and ensuring they understand their financial performance.

About You
To be successful in this exciting position you will ideally be CA/CPA qualified and have experience in a similar role taking day to day responsibility for the broad remit of financial management and reporting. You will have leadership capabilities with demonstrated success in growing and developing your team members.

You will be very comfortable working at a hands-on level, have excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills and be proactive, driven and be results oriented. You will be prepared to challenge the status quo with a view to ongoing improvement.

Experience in the implementation and/or enhancement of the financial, processing and reporting systems will be highly regarded.
