Workshop Supervisor - Manager

Forge Bros Engineering is a small, privately-owned Engineering Workshop providing a diverse range of Engineering Services for industrial applications and on-site work including site maintenance and site installation services. Our clients include local and state government departments and corporations of all sizes.

Due to continuing high demand for our services from existing and established clients we are looking for a highly-motivated Workshop Supervisor – Manager with CAD Drawing experience to assist with the smooth running of the workshop and to improve the quality and timeliness of customer orders.

This is very much a hands-on role with an active involvement in the daily work requirements of the workshop being a fundamental part of the role.

The key aspects of this role would include:

· (Essential) CAD drafting experience in Solid Works to assist with workshop drawings and planning.

· Examine the options for improving the flow of work through the shop (and thus improving the timeliness of delivery of customer orders) and action.

· Assist with managing and application of the Forge Bros quality assurance strategy and become familiar with the processes and procedures, and implement any further necessary steps to integrate into our daily workflow.

· Maintain and apply a system to handle tracking and fulfilment of customer orders.

· Keep paperwork up to date: eg. Works Orders / Maintenance Logs / Inspect and Test paperwork / QA / WMS (Workshop management system).

· Job planning and co-ordination.

· Assist with job costing ad estimating.

· Provide instruction and guidance to workshop staff.

· Assist as necessary within the workshop to facilitate timely processing and dispatch of orders.

· Assist with procurement of parts and components for workshop projects.

· Co-ordinate external service providers to assist with timely through put of work.

· (Desirable) Trade Qualified

We’re looking for a responsible individual with good written and computer skills, and a history of successfully managing trade-based staff in a workshop.

Previous experience with QA systems, CAD drafting and a track record of improving workplace process, is essential,
