Steelarc Engineering, a family-owned business based in Mackay, is seeking a self-motivated Workshop Supervisor with experience in both Light & Heavy Fabrication to lead our dynamic workshop team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the success of our busy operations while working in a supportive, family-oriented environment.
As Workshop Supervisor, you’ll work closely with our Workshop Manager and leadership team to oversee daily operations, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and meet the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of skilled tradespeople and apprentices, fostering a collaborative, positive work culture.
Oversee work plans in partnership with the Workshop Manager, ensuring clear direction and focus.
Guarantee timely completion of projects, meeting strict quality standards.
Manage workshop consumables, including tools, materials, and equipment, to ensure smooth operations.
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization within the workshop and yard.
Be adaptable and flexible, adjusting priorities to meet the changing demands of the business and ensuring the smooth flow of operations.
Demonstrate problem-solving skills to resolve challenges as they arise and maintain productivity.
Drive the business forward with a proactive approach to leadership and problem-solving.

Essential Skills & Experience:
Trade Qualified Boilermaker with 5+ years of experience post-qualification.
Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and provide accurate guidance to your team.
Extensive experience in fabricating and repairing structural steel, pipework, and platework.
Proficiency in a wide range of welding processes for various materials.
A solid background in QA processes, ensuring quality at every stage of production.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive, safety-conscious approach.
Strong organizational skills, ensuring the workshop operates smoothly.
Computer proficiency is an advantage.
Flexibility to adapt to changing job priorities and tackle various challenges as they arise.
