Pay: $47.28/hour + Super

The Opportunity
Hudson is partnering with a leading Victorian government-owned TAFE institution in search of a Senior Payroll Officer to join their Finance Department. In this vital role, you will ensure the accurate and timely payment of staff, working closely with the Payroll Manager to meet fortnightly payroll deadlines. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to contribute to the success of a well-established educational institution.
Key Responsibilities
Accurate Payroll Processing: Ensure the accurate payment of salaries for all staff, in line with relevant awards and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs).
Fortnightly Deadlines: Support the Payroll Manager in meeting payroll deadlines to ensure staff are paid on time.
Payroll Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate payroll reports and spreadsheets for management.
Reimbursements & Claims: Manage staff reimbursements and travel expense claims, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Reconciliation: Reconcile employee pay and superannuation records, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Timesheet Management: Process and check casual timesheets, ensuring entries are accurate and approved.
Compliance & Improvements: Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and legislative requirements while contributing to the continuous improvement of payroll processes.
Support for Strategic Goals: Align payroll activities with the organisation's strategic goals and quality outcomes.
Key Selection Criteria
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Experience: Previous experience in payroll operations within a large organisation.
EBA Expertise: Proven experience in interpreting and applying complex Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs).
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Time Management: Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
Software Proficiency: Solid knowledge of MS Office, database management, and payroll software. Experience with TechOne or ADP is highly desirable.
