Your new Company

Your new company is a global market leader of OEM solutions for many automotive related blue-chip manufacturers. As a manufacturer and distributor of a comprehensive array of trailer, RV and caravan markets your new company specialise in suspension systems, brakes and a range of accessories.

Your new role will see you achieve operational performance goals whilst handling welding and fabrication and pre-paint areas. You will ensure quality checks are adhered to and support other manufacturing areas in an aid to cross functional learning.

Your new role

Reporting the Production Manager, your new role will see you working Monday to Friday with typical hours being 7am – 3pm. You will be managing small team of 20 welding staff and pre – paint staff who comprise a mixture of permanent and casual staff. Whilst these are the set hours overtime is to be expected depending on client requirements. In these instances you will start earlier seeing you commence at 5 or 6am and / or occasional later finish times could occur - as you deem needed to satisfy work requirements for the communal team target.

Your typical day will see you;

  • Adhere to running a safe workplace where safety is paramount;
  • Assisting welders and pre-paint staff to ensure timely and quality execution of welds;
  • Defects are fed back to team and root cause identified to prevent recurrence
  • Ensure equipment and plant is maintained to standard and used in accordance with site safety rules;
  • Identify continuous improvements, and cost down strategies and up to date and adequate staff training; and
  • Portray strong people management capabilities as you facilitate growth.

Your background

  • Strong, proven people management experience managing a team of 20+;
  • Manufacturing industry experience desirable, not essential to the role (will consider non-technical background);
  • Customer service focused, across all channels especially repairs & warranty;
  • Ability to oversee forecasting / budgets / reporting with the Operations Manager etc;
  • Strong commitment to OH&S alongside first aid training, certifications highly desirable;
  • Ability to work overtime and be flexible as the job requires; and
