About the role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team. You will work directly with the Financial Controller and support accounting functions across multiple areas, including accounts payable, general ledger management, payroll, and IT support. This is a full-time, permanent role based at our head office in Wingfield, offering an exciting opportunity for someone with strong accounting skills to contribute to a dynamic business.
This role provides excellent exposure to senior financial management and would suit someone looking to further develop their career in finance.
Key Responsibilities Include
Preparation of BAS, including Fuel Tax Credit claims
Managing superannuation, payroll tax payments, PAYG returns, and group certificates
Reconciling creditors, debtors, and general ledger accounts, including posting journals
Ensuring timely and accurate payable invoice authorisation and payments
Maintaining comprehensive records of all supplier payment files
Ensuring general ledger postings are done correctly and on a timely manner
Preparing and distributing reports as required
Maintaining supplier payment records and ensuring accurate ledger postings
Assisting with payroll processing when the Payroll Clerk is on leave
Preparing annual tax reconciliations and monthly payroll summary reports
The Successful Applicant Will Have:
A degree in Accounting/Commerce (essential)
CPA qualification (advantageous)
Experience in general accounting, accounts payable, and payroll functions
Knowledge of integrated business systems, particularly Great Plains, Office 365, Micropay, Wageloch, and Appenate
IT systems knowledge and experience providing IT support
The ability to be ethical, honest, and committed to maintaining integrity in all aspects of work
The ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and government agencies
