About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Hessel Group as a Senior Accountant. Reporting to the Chief Strategic Officer, you will play a key role in the company's finance team, responsible for delivering high-quality financial reports and supporting the overall accounting and reporting function. This is a full-time position based in our Fullarton, SA office.

What you'll be doing

Preparing monthly and annual financial statements, including the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements

Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial records and reports

Manage financial year end and audit processes.

Prepare and submit statutory reporting obligations in accordance with the applicable legislation, including Payroll Tax, PAYG, BAS, FBT and Income Tax.

Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to ensure accurate and realistic financial plans.

Assisting with the integration of accounting systems and processes

Providing support to the broader finance team as needed

Contributing to the continuous improvement of finance and accounting procedures

What we're looking for

A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

At least 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment

Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills, with a thorough understanding of Australian Accounting Standards

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines

Proficient in the use of accounting software, such as Xero

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
