Join a respected family-owned glazing business as our new Operations Manager, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe day-to-day operations across both residential and commercial glazing projects.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the business – from scheduling, resource planning, reviewing quotes to installation quality and team coordination. This is a hands-on, leadership role perfect for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and being a key part of a tight-knit, hardworking team.

Key Responsibilities

📅 Project & Workflow Management

Coordinate and oversee glazing project delivery from job booking through to installation and sign-off.

Manage job scheduling, resource allocation, and installation timelines for both residential and commercial works.

Ensure smooth communication between sales, quoting, scheduling, fabrication and installation teams.

⚙️ Process & Quality Control

Develop and maintain efficient operational workflows and procedures.

Drive high-quality workmanship standards and ensure compliance with Australian Standards and OH&S requirements.

Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks.

📦 Supply Chain & Inventory Oversight

Manage supplier relationships.

Oversee stock levels and inventory management across warehouse and vehicles.

👷‍♂️ Team Leadership & Culture

Lead and support a team of glaziers.

Foster a safe, respectful and high-performing work environment.

Provide training and support to staff for ongoing development and skills improvement.

🛠️ Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

Troubleshoot issues on site and support teams to resolve challenges quickly.

Implement improvements in job tracking, communication and operational efficiency.

Collaborate closely with the business owners to align operations with business goals.

📈 Business Development & Growth

Work alongside the business owners to identify and pursue growth opportunities in both residential and commercial markets.

Build and nurture relationships with builders, architects, contractors and key decision-makers to expand the client base.

Leverage industry networks and market insights to develop strategic partnerships and win repeat business.

Represent the business at industry events, trade shows and networking opportunities.

Provide input into marketing initiatives, tenders and quoting processes to support the sales pipeline.

🧾 Reporting & Compliance

Track and report on project progress, job costs and operational KPI's.

Ensure adherence to safety, compliance and regulatory requirements.

Assist in managing contractor relationships and compliance documentation.

✅ Essential Requirements

Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a senior leadership role within the glazing or related industry or running a business in this sector.

Extensive technical and industry knowledge of glass types, installation methods and emerging glazing technologies.

Strong business acumen with experience in quoting, negotiating and managing contracts.

Proven track record of business development and an established network of industry contacts in Australia.

Ability to keep abreast of trends, technologies and regulatory changes in the glazing industry.

Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to manage a team and build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and partners.
