About Us
The Corporate Governance and Risk Office (CGRO) is responsible for managing the governance functions of the University. It provides procedural advice and support to the Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor and the ANU Council, Council Committees, and the Academic Board. CGRO also manages ANU policy, delegations and legislation.
Position overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced administrator, looking for a chance to deliver a high standard of administrative services in support of key decision-making bodies and governing frameworks at one of Australia's leading Universities.
The Senior Administrator will work to support the University Secretary and a small team of specialist secretariat and governance staff by providing high level administrative, technical and logistical support to the University Council, Council Committees, Foundation Board, Academic Board and its sub-committees, as well as the governance frameworks and training schedules managed by CGRO.
The Senior Administrator must have highly developed interpersonal, communication and liaison skills as the first point of contact for a variety of stakeholders including members of Council and Council Committees, the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, and staff from Portfolio areas and the Colleges.
The successful applicant must also have a high level of technical/IT expertise as the position is responsible for developing and maintaining a number of systems used by the team, including board management software, web sites, online forms and data bases.
This position is being offered for a fixed term of approximately 14 months.

To be successful in this role, you will have relevant qualifications and extensive experience in the provision of administrative services. You will be highly organised and able to deliver under pressure, have good writing skills, possess an exceptional eye for detail, be experienced and comfortable with managing information technology solutions, and have effective partnership skills with the ability to influence at all levels, including governance colleagues and senior leaders.
