About the role

Suburban Outdoor Power Equipment is seeking a skilled Small Engine Mechanic to join our team in West Hoxton, NSW. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a variety of small engine-powered equipment, including lawn mowers, chainsaws, and trimmers. Your technical expertise and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service will be essential in this position.

What you'll be doing

Inspect, diagnose, and repair small engines and associated components

Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as oil changes, tune-ups, and blade sharpening

Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functioning

Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients

Maintain detailed records of repair work and parts used

Assist with inventory management and tool organisation

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in small engine technology

Keep workshop tidy

Occasional counter service and product demos

Answering phones and dealing with customer enquiries professionally and promptly.

What we're looking for

2-3 years of experience as a Small Engine Mechanic or in a similar role

Strong technical skills with the ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of small engines

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

Good communication and customer service skills

Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently

A valid driver's licence and your own reliable transportation

Presentable and good personal hygiene.
