About the role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Full Time Agricultural Technician to support orchard operations at our Amaroo Orchard. This hands-on role works closely with our Farm Manager and Agronomy team to ensure the optimal performance of our almond crops through precise data collection, irrigation management, and implementation of crop protection programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Regularly inspect crops to assess plant health, soil condition, and pest or disease presence, and record key agronomic data like irrigation use, leaf and soil analysis, and yield estimates.

Use digital tools to report field data and assist with fertiliser, irrigation, and pest control programs, adjusting applications under the guidance of the Agronomy team.

Operate and maintain drip and micro irrigation systems, help manage fertigation schedules, and monitor water use efficiency according to seasonal needs.

Help maintain and calibrate farm equipment used for spraying, harvesting, and irrigation, and report any mechanical issues or inefficiencies.

Keep accurate records of daily farm activities and ensure operations align with environmental, safety, and biosecurity protocols.

Experience and Qualifications:

Diploma in Agriculture/ Horticulture or a related field, or relevant equivalent experience.

Experience in horticulture or tree crop production (almonds preferred but not essential).

Familiarity with irrigation systems and fertiliser application processes.

Strong observational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel between orchard sites if required.
