Agricultural Technician nec (Full-time)

Agricultural Technician (Agriculture Technician-full time) position vacant in our agricultural business The Trustee for Dhariwal Family Trust trading as Dhariwal Farms at 993 Bucca Road, Bucca, NSW-2450. Minimum 38 hours a week.

Job Description:

· Preparing reports, safety regulations, and preventative maintenance plans

· Organizing the supply of and providing guidance about pesticides, fertilizers, chemicals and so on

· Planning various aspects of harvesting and production processes including planting, examining growth, and so on.

· Conducting crops analysis to establish and enforce standards of quality.

· Evaluating the efficacy of meal formulations by inspecting farm animal’s health and production capacity.

· Helping to create innovative techniques to fertilizers, planting, harvesting and processing crops.

· Identity harmful weeds and fungi and suggesting solutions to eliminate and control them.

· Helping with the developing of better yields on crops by innovative means such as introducing genetically better plants etc.

· Inspect or test produce to detect harmful diseases, chemical residues, or infestations.

· Monitor disease and pest infestation to farm plants

· Determine and supervise disease and pest control

· Monitor and determine irrigation practices

· Monitor and determine cultivation and pruning practices

· Determining the most effective use of farmland by analysing its physical qualities and topography.

· Advise on development programs or new equipment or techniques to aid in quality production.

· Sourcing and organizing data in various forms through research and building the company’s database; offering advice on agricultural management and techniques.

· Direct or monitor the quarantine and treatment or destruction of plants or plant products.

· Make recommendations regarding processes of corrective action to be taken.

Applicant must have:

Completed Diploma of Horticulture and minimum 2 years of full-time work experience in a similar position

Annual Salary (depending on experience/skills) between $75,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation.
