Heritage College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Library Technician to join the team at the Narre Warren South Campus. This is a part-time and fixed-term position, to work 15 hours per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. This is to cover a staff member on leave and will commence at the start of Term 2, 2025, concluding at the end of Term 2, 2025.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the management and organisation of library resources, including books, digital materials, and periodicals.
- Support students and staff with research and information retrieval.
- Catalog and classify library materials according to established systems.
- Maintain the library's inventory, ensuring all resources are properly shelved, labelled, and updated.
- Provide assistance in the operation of library.
- Oversee the circulation of library materials, including issuing, returning, and renewing items.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate library resources into the curriculum.
- Ensure a welcoming and efficient environment for library users.
- Assist with the management of library budgets and procurement of new resources.
- Provide support to students and staff in the use of library facilities and resources.
- Perform general administrative duties, including data entry and report preparation.
- Attention to detail, highly organised, methodical, and able to follow tasks through their conclusion.
- Appreciation and enthusiasm for literature and the ability to share this enthusiasm.
- Actively support and promote the Christian-based values and ethos of the College, including planning and leading daily Christian devotions, in alignment with the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students
- Hold relevant qualifications in Library Technician or equivalent Library Science.
- Experience in a school library environment
- IT competence using Library systems. Experience using Oliver library management system preferrable.
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal skills and approachability.
- First Aid certificate, Working with Children Clearance
