About Cool.org

Join the team at Cool.org, a leading Edtech not-for-profit that's transforming education! We're a not-for-profit on a mission to create cutting-edge online resources that empower educators to inspire the next generation. Our resources ignite curiosity in kids and equip educators with the tools they need to explore environmental, social and economic sustainability challenges. We partner with value-aligned organisations to bring engaging and impactful content into classrooms across Australia. Now, we're looking for an experienced Marketing & Communications Lead to join our team and amplify our marketing efforts as we work towards realising our vision and mission. This is your chance to be part of a dynamic, fast-paced team and play a key role in driving our growth. If you're excited about making a difference in education and ready for a thrilling journey, we'd love to have you on board!

The work culture at Cool is dynamic, inclusive and flexible. All of us are driven by our core Cool Behaviours, which shape our communication and collaboration -

The role

The ideal candidate is a marketing and communications superstar who believes education is the key to driving real-world change! We expect you might be a mid-level with a few years of experience, someone from an adjacent field looking for a new career path in marketing, or even a stay-at-home parent looking to return to the workforce part-time.

Reporting to Kirsten, our Digital Marketing Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality partner marketing strategies, EDMs and social media content, as well as developing and managing thriving, ongoing relationships with several key partner accounts.

This is a busy and multifaceted role where you’ll enjoy plenty of variety, opportunities to learn, and a supportive team environment. To succeed, you’ll need to be organised, proactive, creative, curious, and detail-oriented. We’re a small team, so you’ll need to be comfortable working autonomously as well as collaboratively and willing to step outside your lane every now and again.

We know you might not be able to check everything off the requirements list, and that's okay! If you’re up for a challenge, keen to learn, and feel you’d be a great cultural fit, we’d love to hear from you!

Please note that Cool Australia is based in Melbourne, Victoria. In-person attendance in the Cool office is required 2 days per week, so international and interstate applicants should not apply.

A day in the life in this role might look like...

Creating a marketing strategy in Canva for a new 3-year outreach and evaluation program, working with the client to define key outreach dates and implement feedback on your copy

While you’re checking the BI tool, you notice the lessons of one of your key clients is underperforming, so you give them a call to discuss marketing levers you might have to increase engagement

Preparing an annual progress report, using your deep knowledge of the project and client to tell a meaningful story and provide some ideas for future work

Meeting with partners to brainstorm for upcoming marketing campaigns that’ll obsess our educators

Jumping into chats with our Education team to learn about upcoming content

Creating and sending a themed EDM to all teachers in Victoria using Active Campaign, our email marketing system

Spending some time checking and updating Wrike, our project management platform, ensuring it accurately reflects the content calendar you have built

One of your key accounts is coming up to the end of contract, so you start negotiations for a renewal which includes new lessons as well as an outreach and evaluation program

You create a fun reel of the Cool.org team for our socials on International Women’s Day

You implement a new process which uses AI to automate some of the manual processes involved in copywriting and editing

Required skills and qualifications

3+ years in marketing & comms or a related field (account managers and copywriters: we see you, and we’d love to hear from you!)

Proven expertise in copywriting

Superb organisational skills with demonstrated project management experience

A solid grasp of marketing data analysis and performance metrics

Experience in Canva, Wrike & Active Campaign, or similar Design, project management and email automation tools

Preferred skills and qualifications

Experience in Edtech or the broader education sector

SaaS marketing experience

Relationship/account management, including business development

An understanding of, or keen interest in, AI and other technologies we can leverage to create process efficiencies
