We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to oversee all kitchen operations in our bakery café. You’ll be responsible for creating a menu, leading a team, and ensuring a high standard of food quality, safety, and hygiene. This is an attractive day shift position.

The role

Full time salaried Chef position

Working with our kitchen team in a hands on position to prepare & cook food for our bakery cafe, catering & functions.

Place orders with suppliers, manage inventory, & prep lists

Responsible in the planning of menu changes & daily specials.

Qualifications

At least 3 years of employment experience in similar role/ reputable venues

Chef qualification & Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is an advantage but not essential

Full Australian working rights and strong English communication

Skills & Experience

Prepare & cook dishes to ensure quality & freshness

Can run a shift in a busy cafe environment; place orders & manage stock as required

Cook the full range of menu items in accordance with recipes, standard procedures, methods & dietary needs

Follow health, safety, food handling & storage regulations closely

Ability to work as part of a team

Great focus, positive attitude, strong work ethic & well organised, keeps a clean well managed kitchen

Can work as part of a team, communicate well & guide/train other staff

Can work quickly, efficiently, plan ahead, & are reliable
