A leading tech-driven organisation is seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Officer to ensure full compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations across diverse work environments, including international installation sites. This is a hands-on role reporting to the Quality & Safety Manager, with close collaboration across various departments to foster a strong safety-first culture.

What You’ll Be Doing:
•Lead the planning and implementation of WHS practices aligned with current regulations and standards
•Develop and maintain risk assessments for operational sites, both locally and overseas
•Conduct hazard identification, incident investigations, and oversee reporting procedures
•Manage and document workplace inspections, safety audits, and safety performance metrics
•Prepare and update Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) as required
•Train staff in PPE usage and safe work procedures
•Support return-to-work coordination for injured employees
•Promote and embed a culture of safety across all levels of the organisation
•Ensure compliance with Defence industry safety standards and legislation

What You’ll Bring:
•Prior experience in a Safety role within Defence or a related technical industry (preferred)
•Strong understanding of WHS Act & Regulations, and SafeWork NSW Codes of Practice
•Familiarity with ISO 45001 and other relevant standards
•Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to safety culture
•Strong organisational and documentation skills
•Ability to assess and guide safety practices in dynamic, high-responsibility environments
