About the Role

The primary focus of the role is on technical, compliance, qualification and training of industry stakeholders in the climate control sector in Australia. This is a core function within ARC and supports industry participants in meeting the requirements under Regulations for the safe handling and trading of refrigerants. This is achieved through comprehensive, nation wide audit and education functions as part of our contract of service to the Federal Government.

About the ARC

The Australian Refrigeration Council Ltd (ARC) mission is to set the standards for a safe, environmentally friendly and dynamic climate control industry.

We are the peak body for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry in Australia. A key activity is the appointment by the Australian Government to administer the Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Regulations (1995) servicing over 145,000 individuals and businesses nationally.

About you:

You will enjoy leading a team and contributing strategically to industry best practice, and have extensive management expertise and qualifications that go beyond trade skills and experience as outlined below:

detailed familiarity or direct management experience of a trade licencing or regulatory function

experience within the vocational education sector in particular curriculum design and change

Diploma or Degree in operations management, adult education or similar

a Cert IV in Training and Assessment

proven track record in leading geographically dispersed teams

exemplary communication skills both written and verbal: adept at compiling comprehensive performance and Board reports, build rapport and trust as well as present with impact at industry events and forums

trade skills in air-conditioning and refrigeration are highly desirable.

Some intra and interstate travel will be required.
