Role Overview

We are looking for a dynamic Respiratory Scientist who is also interested in driving marketing efforts for our respiratory services. This role blends clinical expertise in respiratory care with a strategic focus on marketing, including patient and GP engagement. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to combine their scientific knowledge and marketing skills to promote our services and educate the community on respiratory health.

Key Responsibilities

1. Respiratory Scientist Responsibilities:

a) Conduct Diagnostic Assessments:

Perform diagnostic tests such as pulmonary/lung function testing, and home-based sleep studies to assess respiratory conditions.

Interpret test results and provide recommendations to patients and healthcare providers.

Provide patients with information about the procedures and address any questions they may have.

b) Patient Care:

Provide high-quality care in a clinical setting, including supporting patients in understanding their respiratory conditions and treatment plans.

c) Data Management:

Maintain accurate patient records and manage test data in compliance with confidentiality and privacy regulations.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care.

Document test results accurately and in a timely manner.

d) Equipment Maintenance:

Ensure all respiratory/sleep testing equipment is maintained, calibrated, and functioning correctly.

2. Marketing Responsibilities:

Brand Promotion: Promote the company’s brand by fostering relationships with GPs through GP lunches and building strategic alliances with Practice Managers, with the goal of increasing referrals and sales.

Skills and Qualifications

1. Required:

a) Must possess unrestricted full working rights in Australia.

b) Clinical experience in respiratory and/or sleep testing is required.

c) Education and Certification:

Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Science, Health/Biomedical Science, or a related field.

Certification as a Respiratory Scientist (or equivalent certification as required by Queensland or local regulatory bodies) with ANZSRS standards.

Additional certifications in sleep medicine or pulmonary function testing will be highly valued.

Valid CPR certification.

d) Strong Communication Skills:

Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both patients and GPs.

Ability to articulate thoughts clearly and accurately.

e) Technical Skills:

Familiarity with healthcare software platform such as HealthTrack.

f) Detail-Oriented & Analytical:

Strong attention to detail in both clinical and marketing tasks.

h) Valid Australian driver's license.

i) Own a car or have regular access to one.
