POSITION SUMMARY

The role available is for a senior highly experienced in house general administration and payroll is ideal for someone who wants to be apart of an evolving company in the construction industry.

With a diversity of tasks available, there will also be general administration and organisation tasks and payroll duties.

Whilst tasks will vary, you can generally expect this role will involve the following tasks:

  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded;
  • General data entry;
  • Timesheet and payroll (construction EBA);
  • Progress claims and invoicing projects;
  • Prepare bank reconciliation or assist with external bookkeeper;
  • Accounts payable / accounts receivable;
  • Assist with reviewing income and expenses;
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed;
  • Assist/liaise with senior bookkeeper/accountants in the preparation of month-end and year-end reporting;
  • Social media and basic fun marketing;
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Assist with other office and organisation duties as required;

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Payroll and General Administration

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with high proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in preparing reports;
  • Meticulous attention to detail;
  • Proven ability to understand key financial and business variables in a complex and changing environment;
  • Maintenance of supply (awareness of office and staff room supplies);
  • Accurate record-keeping and filing (electronic and paper files);
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks;
  • Achieve best practice outcomes with minimal supervision;
  • Being accountable, proactive and innovative
  • Ability to deal with changing requirements
  • Contribute to a vibrant environment by being energetic, enthusiastic and engaged in everything you do
  • Flexibility with working hours as business requires.
  • Maintaining general office organisation;
  • File management (in XERO and hard copy assistance);
  • Assisting the rest of the management and team with any additional duties as required.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Proficiencies:

  • Experience within the Construction Industry, knowledge and understanding of construction expenses
  • Diploma or Bachelor Degree is highly desirable but not required;
  • 2-3 years experience in a similar role
  • Exceptional skills with Microsoft Excel;;
  • Payroll - EBA/Union payroll requirements (essential);
  • Deputy (or similar) app software experience (preferred);
  • Experienced in working to strict deadlines and business KPIs;
  • Managing performance to budgets and profitability;
  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Brilliant organisational, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multitask, work independently and prioritise tasks.
