About the Role

GoldlinQ is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager – Operations to oversee the commercial and legal aspects of our public transport infrastructure operations. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will provide strategic commercial support for the ongoing operations of Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the Gold Coast Light Rail project, ensuring contractual compliance and risk management. Additionally, the role will act as a backup to the Commercial Manager – Delivery, supporting Stage 3 project development when required.

About GoldlinQ

GoldlinQ is responsible for the financing, delivery, operation, and maintenance of the Gold Coast Light Rail through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) with the Queensland Government. The project is a key part of the city’s public transport network and is jointly funded by three levels of government and private investors. With stages 1 and 2 operational and stage 3 under construction, GoldlinQ is committed to providing a safe, reliable, and sustainable transport solution for the Gold Coast.

Role Responsibilities

Provide commercial and legal support for the ongoing operations of Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the project.

Administer a complex suite of contracts, including agreements with the Queensland Government and the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Contractor.

Collaborate with key stakeholders, including TransLink and the O&M Contractor.

Manage contract compliance, risk assessment, and dispute resolution.

Support the procurement and oversight of legal services, ensuring efficiency and compliance.

Assist in financial and strategic decision-making regarding commercial agreements.

Contribute to safety culture and ensure compliance with GoldlinQ’s safety policies and procedures.

Provide backup support to the Commercial Manager – Delivery, assisting in the successful execution of Stage 3 construction activities.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

Tertiary qualifications in law, business, commerce, or a related field.

Experience in commercial and legal management within the construction, infrastructure, or transport industries.

Strong knowledge of contract administration and relevant Australian regulations.

A proven ability to negotiate and manage complex contracts, particularly within a PPP environment.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.

A track record of providing strategic commercial advice to executive leadership teams.

Strong risk assessment and mitigation capabilities.

A commitment to safety culture and continuous improvement.
