About the role

Recruitment Engineering Services Pty Ltd is seeking a Commercial Manager to join an international global rail leader within the rail products and services market. Based in Brisbane and reporting into the Managing Director you will play a crucial part in overseeing and managing the contractual and commercial aspects of rail projects in close partnership with our Government and blue chip clients around Australia .

What you'll be doing

Reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and agreements to protect the company's interests

Monitoring project budgets and cash flow, and providing timely financial reporting to key stakeholders

Identifying and mitigating commercial risks against contractual obligations

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve commercial disputes and claims

Ensure obligations from suppliers and customer contracts are understood to de-risk the company

Ability to develop and implement contracts with suppliers

Contract Administration experience involving the contracts register, monitoring contract life cycles etc

What we're looking for

Contracts and procurement experience, preferably within the manufacturing, rail products, materials markets

Thorough understanding of construction contracts, claims management and dispute resolution

Excellent negotiation, problem-solving and decision-making skills

Pre and post contract management experience

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management capabilities

Experience tendering and working with Government procurement contracts would be beneficial

Degree in a relevant field, such as Construction Management, Engineering or Business
