We are looking for a full-time Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team.
As a degree qualified Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:
Join other Mechatronic and Manufacturing engineers to support the Design, Prototype and Production of Fire and Emergency vehicles.
Be excited by the opportunity to work directly with the Manufacturing and Inventory teams on vehicle design and problem solving.
Be creative in your designs but structured in your implementation.
Enjoy working in teams with mixed backgrounds and experience.
About Your Role
Oversee design and development of firetrucks and special purpose vehicles
Interpret and validate customer specifications and project information
Produce innovative and cost-effective design solutions and specifications
Contribute to project teams and lead development projects, assessing/determining requirements (labour, materials, equipment, schedules, costs, etc) for projects
Take part in design and drawing reviews for peers
Assess designs against the relevant standards
Carry out component and system design, evaluation, trial, testing and inspection
Support existing product lines through analysis and problem solving
Identify and manage risks within your designs and projects
Produce, review, sign off and release 3D models and drawings to production
Produce and contribute to technical and user documentation
Required qualifications, skills and experience
Bachelor degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 4 years industry experience.
Experience working to the Australian Design Rules or NFPA guidelines.
Experience with emergency or technical vehicle design
3D modelling and drafting in Creo or Solid Works
Some 3D FEA analysis in an industry setting
Electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic design an advantage
The salary for this position is $90,000 per annum plus superannuation
