About the role

Hix Group is seeking an experienced Warehousing and Purchasing Lead to join our team in Penrith, NSW. This full-time position is crucial in overseeing the efficient operations of our warehousing and purchasing functions, ensuring we maintain optimal stock levels and streamline our supply chain processes for effective trade service delivery.

What you'll be doing

Manage the day-to-day operations of our warehouse, including inventory control, order fulfilment, and stock replenishment

Oversee the sourcing and purchasing of materials, components, and finished goods to ensure timely supply for production and sales in a trades business

Trade vehicle inspections ensuring vehicles are equipped with correct levels of stock and in functioning order to ensure are trades are always prepared for field service delivery

Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing and terms while maintaining strong vendor relationships

Implement and monitor inventory control systems to optimise stock levels and minimise waste

Analyse purchasing and warehousing data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

Train and supervise the warehouse and purchasing teams, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as production and sales, to align supply and demand

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years of experience in a warehousing or purchasing role, ideally in the trades industry

Proven track record of successfully managing inventory, procurement, and supplier relationships

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders

Proficient in the use of inventory management and procurement software
