Position Overview:

We are looking for a talented and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team.

The candidate will have a strong background in working with various populations and caseloads through an evidence-based, innovative approach.

This role is essential to our multidisciplinary strategy (collaborating with speech pathologists and music therapists) and will contribute to expanding our service offerings.

Position:

Part-time or Contractor (minimum 20 hours per week and 3 days)

Performance review after a 3-month probationary period.

Must be able to drive and provide community-based services.

Key Features:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the health field with various populations and age groups.

Provide individual and group occupational therapy sessions to clients of all ages in diverse settings, including studios, homes, schools, childcare centres, residential care facilities, workplaces, and community centers.

Develop and implement treatment plans based on client needs and goals. Using an evidence-based measurement tool and your assessment skills, you'll create therapy plans and provide occupational therapy to support individuals in achieving their functional goals.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, and Music Therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.

Build and maintain professional and meaningful relationships with clients and their support networks (family, caregivers, friends, and other health professionals).

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and therapy sessions.

Engage in ongoing professional development and stay updated with current research and best practices in music therapy.

Contribute to developing and implementing new programs and services within the practice.

Attend team meetings and staff development programs, valuing self-development.

Qualifications:

Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy

Current AHPRA registration

Strong communication skills and cultural awareness, particularly with CALD communities

Experience working with children, young people, adults, and seniors who have additional needs

Own transport and a valid Driver’s Licence

ABN and insurance (for contractors) or relevant clearances (for employees): WWCC, NDIS Worker Check

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrates resilience, self-reflection, and a commitment to ongoing professional development and supervision.
