Our client is a long-established, well-respected plastics packaging manufacturer with a strong footprint across injection and blow moulding. The business has recently expanded through acquisition, adding new production capacity and customers, and is now investing in leadership to support its next development phase

About the Role

As Technical Services Manager, you will report directly to the Managing Director and play a key role bridging technical operations and customer service.

You'll work closely with internal teams and clients on fitment, quality, machine requirements, and troubleshooting while contributing to operational coordination and commercial outcomes.

This role is intended to evolve into a broader Manufacturing and Commercial Management position within a short timeframe, offering genuine career progression for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide front-line technical support and problem-solving for customers
• Manage bottle/cap fitment issues, product specs, and quality concerns
• Coordinate with production, tooling and warehouse teams
• Assist in plant utilisation planning and operational readiness
• Support the MD with business development, quoting, and commercial decision-making
• Play an influential leadership role with scope to grow into a full Manufacturing & Commercial Manager remit

Skills & Experience

• Strong background in plastics manufacturing (injection/blow moulding preferred)
• Confident with customers - clear communicator and solutions-focused
• Technically sound with a practical mindset
• Experience with production coordination or operations support
• Commercial awareness and interest in leadership development
• Comfortable working with autonomy and stepping into broader responsibility
