Homestead Restaurant is set within the historic 186-year-old Homestead, combining history with a warm and modern dining experience. We focus on Mediterranean-style dishes made with fresh, local produce. Our 40-seat restaurant serves lunch and dinner à la carte, along with creative feed-me style options. We also host weddings and cosy fireside events, making our venue a special place for both guests and staff.
We’re looking for a Head Chef who is passionate about great food and enjoys leading a team. You'll have the opportunity to work with quality local ingredients, bring fresh ideas to our menu, and create memorable dining experiences in a welcoming and supportive environment.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen. This is a great opportunity to showcase your skills in a supportive and creative environment. You’ll be responsible for menu development, maintaining high food quality, and ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly.
We are looking for someone who is organised, a strong problem solver, and committed to high safety and hygiene standards. Most importantly, we want a positive and professional leader who enjoys working with a team and bringing fresh ideas to the table. Skills and Experience
Minimum of 8 years' experience working as a chef, with at least 2 years in a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef role.
Cert 4 in Commercial Cookery.
A valid Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or willing to obtain.
A deep passion for sustainability, local produce, and zero-waste principles.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing a kitchen team.
Creativity in menu development, with excellent knowledge of allergens and dietary requirements.
Strong understanding of kitchen management, budgeting, and cost control.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to mediate and resolve conflicts among kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
