Laboratory Technician

• Thomastown Location
• Dayshift Hours 8am - 4.06pm
• 38 Hour Week plus Overtime
• Hourly Rate Based on experience $35 - $38
• Immediate Start

Our client specialises in defence, aerospace and commercial related processing and surface coatings. A rare opportunity has arisen to join their team on dayshift.

If successful for the position you must agree and be willing to complete pre-employment checks including National Police check and Medical Assessment and provide the company with a copy of your birth certificate and or passport for identification.

Brief Summary of the Role and Duties

• Reporting directly to the Production and Quality Managers
• This position requires you to be hands on
• You will be required to have experience and knowledge of chemistry and solution controls particularly in production environment.
• Perform routine laboratory testing and analysis on samples according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Prepare and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Record and interpret test results, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
• Conduct sample preparation, handling, and storage following established protocols.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
• Monitor inventory levels of reagents, equipment, and supplies, and report needs for replenishment.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with equipment or processes.
• Adhere to workplace safety, health, and environmental guidelines at all times.
• Implement measures to correct solutions and plating problems
• Quarantine and remedy tanks that are out of spec or have failed periodic testing

About Your Skills & Experience

• Certificate or diploma in laboratory technology, chemistry, or a related field (preferable).
• Previous experience in a laboratory or industrial setting.
• Have a hands-on approach to the job
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment, testing methods, and quality control practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
• Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Great communication skills both verbal and written
• Able to troubleshoot and problem solving
