About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in mining or construction to join our team in a mining construction project. This role requires a detail-oriented professional to manage and monitor costs and support the project team with accurate financial insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in project-based financial management.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all project documents (ATC, PO, IAF, POP) are compiled, processed, and filed appropriately.

Reconcile intercompany transactions, banks, and creditors with the Pronto GL.

Review payment vouchers and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.

Ensure the availability of funds for all payables.

Prepare recharge invoices and debit notes as required.

Assist external auditors in annual financial audits.

Review company trial balance and project reports for accuracy.

Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are addressed.

Prepare intercompany account reconciliations.

Maintain the accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions in company accounts.

What We’re Looking For

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a project accounting role within the mining or construction industries, with exposure to EPCM contractors and scope

Professional qualification in Accounting, Internal Auditing or Project Management, with a willingness to learn and adapt quickly while maintaining a positive and proactive attitude

Skills: Strong analytical skills with expertise in Project Accounting and Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Word)

Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

Team Player: Collaborative mindset with excellent verbal/written communication skills and extraordinary listening skills to effectively communicate with Colleagues, Consultants and Contractors

A current Police Check (National Police Certificate) or willingness to obtain one
