ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive long-term growth and profitability within their scrap buying portfolio. This role focuses on developing strategic relationships, identifying business opportunities, and leading sales initiatives to expand the company's market reach. Additionally, the position provides the opportunity to mentor and develop direct reports.

Key responsibilities include:

Developing and maintaining strategies for long-term business growth

Identifying and securing new business opportunities within existing and new customer portfolios

Preparing and submitting Tenders, EOIs, and RFPs

Managing customer accounts through CRM and ensuring data accuracy

Engaging with operations teams to optimize customer interactions

Attending trade shows and industry expos to expand networks

Researching and evaluating new markets for potential business expansion

Aligning pricing strategies with overall business objectives

Mentoring and developing team members to enhance performance and growth

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Proven track record in BDM/sales roles within the recycling or scrap industry

Strong networking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to develop and present proposals, tenders, and RFPs

Strong customer focus and ability to close sales opportunities

Exceptional time management and multitasking skills

Leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing staff

Positive attitude with a strong drive to succeed and grow within the industry
