Sales Director – Business Development
Location: Sydney CBD
OTE: up to $250,000 including commission

We are seeking a growth-oriented and proactive Sales Director to join our team in Sydney. This pivotal role combines strategic leadership with hands-on sales, driving the success of our business by building trusted partnerships with our customers and fostering long-term relationships, whilst always seeking new revenue opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing business development team. Set clear performance metrics and provide ongoing coaching to drive team success.
Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, with a focus on both new client acquisition and expanding existing accounts through "land and expand" strategies.
Hands-On Sales: Actively engage in the sales process, identifying and pursuing high-value opportunities while serving as a trusted advisor to clients.
Client Relationship Management: Build and manage strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded. Act as their primary point of contact.
Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities and inform strategic planning.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of solutions and align sales initiatives with overall business objectives.
Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs for the sales team, monitor performance, and drive accountability through regular reviews and data-driven insights.
Reporting: Prepare and present detailed sales reports and forecasts to senior management, utilising analytics to assess team performance and identify areas for improvement.
Who You’ll Work With
You will be part of a nimble team, collaborating closely with the business’s founder and the Chief Executive Officer. The founder is family-oriented, values-driven, and focused on holistic wellness, while the CEO fosters a culture of adaptability and innovation.
Requirements
8+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the software development, IT staffing, or technical services industries.
Proven success in leading sales teams and achieving revenue targets, with a strong track record of driving growth.
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish trust and act as a strategic advisor to clients.
Expertise in developing and executing "land and expand" strategies to grow existing accounts and forge long-term partnerships.
Ability to understand technical role requirements and translate them into tailored staffing or development team solutions.
Strong consultative selling skills, with experience selling to software engineering organisations or enterprise clients.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to craft and deliver persuasive proposals and presentations.
Familiarity with CRM tools and sales pipeline management for effective opportunity tracking and forecasting.
Plus
Understanding of software development methodologies, team structures, and industry trends.
Experience in offshore or nearshore development services, positioning these as value-add to clients.
Background in collaborating with internal delivery teams to align solutions with client needs.
Knowledge of key industries utilising outsourced development, such as manufacturing, finance, and technology.
