Pastry Chef Qualified

Must have a minimum of 2 years working as Pastry Chef.

Responsibilities of our Pastry chefs include, but are not limited to:

• Providing a high-quality product to meet changing customer needs
• Maintaining cleanliness & safety in our bakery
• Prepare and decorate pastries or cakes with glazes, icings, buttercream, fillings etc.
• Design and/or improve recipes as directed
• Prepare custom-made products (e.g. various shapes, size & types of pastries), decorating these to requirements
• Design and/or improve recipes as directed
• Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
• Shape dough to prepare different types of pastries, including croissants, cookies, muffins, sweet rolls or pie crusts
• Prepare, cook, combine and bake savoury items such as sausage rolls, pies, muffins, quiche etc as required
• Measure and combine ingredients using mixers, blenders, heat sources and other equipment to make products
• Test ingredients and finished goods to ensure that each item meets food safety and quality controls
• Ensure proper procedures have been conducted as a part of the pastry team and/or individual tasks
• Report any equipment malfunction, low stock levels, incorrect orders and baking mistakes to the owner or manager in a timely manner
