About the role

We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our talented team at Z & Z BAKERY PTY LTD' in Melbourne, VIC. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing a variety of high-quality baked goods, desserts, and other pastries that will delight our customers. This is a full-time position that will allow you to showcase your skills and passion for the art of pastry making.

What you'll be doing

• Developing and executing recipes for a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods
• Ensuring consistent quality and presentation of all pastry items
• Maintaining a clean and organised work station
• Collaborating with the kitchen team to create innovative menu items
• Adhering to health and safety standards in the kitchen
• Participating in inventory management and ordering of supplies
• Providing guidance and mentorship to junior members of the pastry team

What we're looking for

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pastry Chef in a professional bakery or restaurant setting
• Formal training or qualification in Patisserie or a related culinary field
• Proficiency in a variety of pastry-making techniques, including lamination, puff pastry, and cake decorating
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills
• Passion for creating delicious and visually appealing pastries
