Melbourne Teaching Health Clinics (MTHC) is a non-for-profit, wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Melbourne and provides world class clinical training opportunities for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences students. It also provides patient access to high quality health care for members of the Victorian community, within a private practice setting. There are six clinical areas that are central to this service, and they include general medical practice, dentistry, optometry, audiology, speech pathology and psychology.

About Melbourne Dental Clinic
The Melbourne Dental Clinic (MDC) supervises the graduate and postgraduate students from the Melbourne Dental School to deliver dental services under the supervision of leading dental practitioners in Melbourne. We also have a private dental practice with fully qualified dental practitioners.

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Dental Assistant to support our private practice within our Melbourne Dental Clinic, with an immediate start available. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our dentists and ensuring exceptional care for our patients. Your responsibilities will include preparing treatment rooms, assisting dentists during procedures, managing instruments and materials, and maintaining compliance with infection control standards. Ideally, we are looking for someone available full-time, with negotiable workdays and hours; however, availability on Saturdays will be highly regarded. We also welcome applications from experienced and flexible candidates seeking part-time opportunities. About you

Essential Selection Criteria
Minimum Certificate III as a Dental Assistant (or equivalent qualification subject to approval by the Clinic Director)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment by multi-tasking and prioritizing effectively
Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and work both independently and as part of a team. Ability and confidence to relate to a diverse range of people
Ability to work with a range of dental specialties including Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Paediatrics and Oral Surgery
Sound knowledge of infection control procedures
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience as a Dental Assist and/or experience in working in a fast-paced medium to large private dental clinic will be highly regarded
