About the Opportunity

As part of the Finance and Procurement team, the Accounts Receivable Officer plays a key role in delivering a professional and efficient accounts receivable function. This position is responsible for managing the debtor’s ledger, including Rates and other program debtors, as well as processing payments, issuing statements, and following up on outstanding accounts to ensure timely resolution.

In this role, you will also provide support for customers experiencing financial hardship, liaise with collection agencies on debt recovery, and represent the City of Adelaide in minor civil proceedings related to outstanding debts. Additionally, you will contribute to process improvements, participate in system upgrades, and support the administration of electronic billing solutions.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in Accounts Receivable functions in a general office environment in a medium to large organisation.
  • Experience in identifying process improvement opportunities and potential cost efficiencies across a broad range of transactional services and business processes.
  • Experience in the operation of TechOne, Pathway or other enterprise financial accounting systems.
  • The ability to work accurately to agreed deadlines.
