The Opportunity
The Inklings team at the Kids Research Institute Australia plays a vital role in supporting our vision of happy, healthy kids through collaboration, innovation, and efficient program administration. Working closely with partners and stakeholders, the team delivers an innovative program for babies aged 6-18 months to support social and communication development that improve outcomes for children and families.
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Administration Officer to join the Inklings team at the Kids Research Institute Australia. This role provides high-level administrative support to the General Manager and Senior Manager, ensuring the smooth operation of key administrative functions.
As the Administration Officer, some of your key responsibilities will include:
Providing administrative support to the General Manager and Senior Manager.
Coordinating onboarding and offboarding processes for new employees.
Managing purchasing, invoicing, and credit card administration.
Organising travel bookings, meeting schedules, and event logistics.
Maintaining accurate databases, records, and stakeholder documentation.
Assisting with stakeholder reporting, internal communications, and ad-hoc project support.
Acting as a point of contact for employees and visitors, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
This is a Part-time 0.6 FTE role, (but would consider 0.8 – 1 FTE for the right candidate), on a 1-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension.

To be successful in this role, you should have:
Experience in administration, ideally within a research, university, or not-for-profit organisation.
Strong organisational and administrative skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with stakeholders.
A customer-focused approach, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic database management.
The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
A high level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.
